I work with wood, usually native to Suffolk and as local as possible, preferably freshly cut. I carve and turn bowls, vessels and eating implements. I am currently working on a new range of bowls, combining texture, carving and colour, alongside a very different range of “wild bowls” where the form is suggested by the raw state of the wood and defects appreciated as character. 

 

I also make a range of indoor and outdoor furniture usually to commission. I am currently working on a series of lightweight stool, benches and side tables. I am using Suffolk Chestnut with Ash which gives an interesting colour combination but I also come across some exceptional timber with lots of character.
