Verena Daniels
Reunion Studio, 36 Gainsborough Road, Felixstowe, Suffolk IP11 7HR
After completing a degree in Art and Design in 2001, Verena Daniels established a workshop in Felixstowe with a fellow artist. In 2002, together with Pat Todd, she expanded the venture by taking over premises adjacent to the studio, where they opened Reunion Gallery.
Following the gallery’s closure after 11 successful years, Verena took over the space and transformed it into her own dedicated glass studio. There, she continues to develop her artwork, which is available for purchase both at the studio and through other outlets. She also runs regular glass fusing workshops, sharing her skills and creative process with others.
Verena has been working with glass for over twenty years, specialising in the techniques of fusing and slumping. Her work often depicts landscapes and natural forms, constructed from carefully arranged pieces of glass. She incorporates copper foil and wire into her designs, drawing inspiration from her own sketches and drawings. She also uses coloured glass frit to add texture and to reflect shifting light and moods. The final step in her process involves slumping the fused glass over ceramic moulds, resulting in distinctive, sculptural pieces.
Verenas' work has been exhibited locally, nationally, and internationally.
