I trained at Ipswich Art School, Central St Martins and London University. Whilst teaching art and pottery in London, I was returning to Suffolk at every opportunity to paint the landscape and coastline. This has continued to be my main inspiration throughout my work. I eventually moved back to my roots and started work at Bacton Middle School as the art coordinator where I remained until retirement.

After becoming a member of the Print workshop at Gainsborough’s House more than 20 years ago, I started etching.

More recently I have been producing collagraphs and working on lino and MDF wood blocks. I use the reduction method often working from dark to light. I particularly love the colour effects that can be achieved with this technique, often quite unexpected.

Rural Suffolk has continued to inspire my work. My images are developed from drawings and paintings made in situ on regular sketching trips.
