Jean has a great love of the Suffolk countryside and coastline and her unique textile panels are inspired by these images. She works with a variety of fabrics, but particularly loves to use very fine chiffons and silk gauzes - layering them to get subtle changes in colour and tone - almost like working with washes of watercolour paints. Sometimes she will digitally print small pieces of fabric and set these into the picture, occasionally adding text. She uses machine embroidery to attach the fabrics and to embellish and enhance the images.
