Accidental and controlled use of colour has been central to the development of Alison’s work throughout a variety of media. Her interest in photography and gardening has influenced her ideas for her paper jewellery which is unique, durable, lightweight and colourful. Her pieces are simple and stylish, setting off both casual and more formal outfits alike. Alison designs and decorates her papers with a variety of printing techniques including mono printing, sponging and staining.
She embellishes the decorates sheets and finally coats them to make them water resistant. The beads are hand rolled and strung using semi precious beads to add extra colour and glitz to the finished necklaces.
Her individual earrings are made by rolling the papers into 3D shapes that are light and delicate and set off the individuality of her pieces.
