I work from my studio in Felixstowe and work mainly in porcelain and stoneware clays. I produce functional bowls and wall pieces which are essentially paintings in ceramic!
My bowls capture a spontaneous moment in the casting process using porcelain slip to produce fine and delicate forms. The bowls reveal ammonite features and are coloured with oxides for emphasis.
Glazes are applied in a way which follows through the spontaneity of each piece. Using layers of clay which is textured or slip decorated, I create seascapes and landscapes in box frames to evoke the coastal regions of Suffolk.
