Jon Warnes - Crafted in wood

Jon works with wood, usually native to Suffolk and as local as possible, preferably freshly cut. He carves and turn bowls, vessels and eating implements. He is currently working on a new range of bowls, combining texture, carving and colour, alongside a very different range of “wild bowls” where the form is suggested by the raw state of the wood and defects appreciated as character.

He also makes a range of indoor and outdoor furniture usually to commission. He is currently working on a series of lightweight stool, benches and side tables. He is using Suffolk Chestnut with Ash which gives an interesting colour combination but also comes across some exceptional timber with lots of character.
