Marta Dyer-Smith
The society welcomes new member Marta Dyer Smith.
Printmaking has been my passion since I took a course at Thomas Gainsborough House almost 10 years ago. Since then I have developed my own experimental techniques and tools in collagraphy, monoprint, dry point and relief printing. I am always trying new things and I love sharing my ideas with other printmakers around the world through my YouTube channel and Instagram. I have generated a good following which has been an amazing experience in itself as I have made artist friends in so many places around the world and some have even visited me in my studio. Coming from IT background where sharing technical information is very common, I wanted to do the same in printmaking.
I draw my inspiration in landscape and outdoor sketching whatever the weather. I collect sketches and assemble elements of them to create abstract landscapes.
I have recently participated in group exhibitions in The Royal Society of Painters-Printmakers at Bankside Gallery in London, Southbank Printmakers Mini Print 2024 Exhibition in London as well as Printmaking Competition at Ironbridge Fine Art Gallery.
I frequently exhibit in Suffolk and Essex with the 12Printmakers Group.
