Suffolk in the City, London Craft Week
11th - 17th May 2026, Pickett London
Suffolk in the City is returning to London Craft Week (11th–17th May), thanks to our patron and host, Trevor Pickett. Trevor has made his selections and invitations have been extended accordingly.
The terribly sad news is that Trevor Pickett has been very ill and is still in hospital. He is adamant that he wants us to return to his Mayfair store in Burlington Gardens for London Craft Week and the staff there have assured me that they are happy to host us in his absence.
I do not expect him to be able to put in more than a token appearance so we have had to modify plans:
We will not have a satellite show in the Pickett Sloane Street store
We will have to be more self-sufficient than last year and so I will need extra help when we unload and load the van and at the Private View.
The Private View plans have been modified and will only take place in the evening of Tuesday 12th May 6-8pm.
Key information is as follows:
Tuesday 5th May - Deliver stock and hard copy entry form to Juliet's house in Bury St Edmunds: 45A Crown Street BSE, IP331QX. If you have large items you can deliver via our parking entrance on Bridewell Lane IP33 1RE but please ring on her mobile when you arrive (07931361785)
Thursday 7th May - Pete the van man delivers to the Pickett store after shop hours 6-8pm. At least 2 x strong members to assist please
Friday 8th - 9th May - install show. 2-3 members required to help hang etc and label work
Monday 11th May - show opens 11am - 6pm
Tuesday 12th May- 11am – 6pm followed by Private View 6-8pm 3 x members required
Wednesday 13th - Sunday 17th - show continues
Monday 18th May - show comes down and all unsold work is packed for collection. Help will be needed to wrap all work securely ( 11am- 3pm) and to help load the van after 6pm when store closes. 2-3 members required please
Date tbc - collect unsold work from Crown Street address after it has been delivered to Suffolk.
Juliet has tried to speak to each of you but if you any queries about what work to submit or display issues, please do not hesitate to get in touch with her on her mobile (07931361785)
Purchases will be taken by customers at point of sale as many are international visitors, but I will take orders if I can.
We have no storage in London so I will not be able to take surplus stock.
Makers with wall hung work - please ensure it is ready to hang.
Furniture makers - please supply a very low plinth if you can for your work to sit on.
Please volunteer to help fill in the gaps. Juliet will be there every day to provide continuity but a steward each day will be required and extra help at get in & out and set up as highlighted above. Reasonable travel expenses can be claimed – cheap day returns – it won’t matter if you can’t arrive on the dot of 11am.
Please come to the Private View and invite your friends and customers. We had a great time last year and there were some significant sales that night.
Juliet is looking forward to taking the Society to London again and hopes we are as successful as we were last year. Please call her if you want to discuss anything (07931361785)
Please note that there is a £15 hanging fee which can be paid on the Zettle on handing in day. If you are asking someone else to bring your work, please supply them with £15 on your behalf.
