The Suffolk Craft Society is delighted to congratulate member Susi Hines on the wonderful achievement of becoming a Freeman of the Company of Goldsmiths earlier this month.
This special honour was marked by a memorable ceremony bringing together new Freemen alongside familiar and much-valued colleagues. For Susi, the recognition carries not only prestige but also a meaningful sense of responsibility. As a Freeman, she joins a long-standing tradition of supporting fellow goldsmiths and silversmiths, while championing the spirit of innovation that has always been central to this ancient craft, values that have clearly shaped her own work and her time as an educator within the industry. The Company’s charitable foundation also plays a vital role in supporting the wider creative industries, fostering a diverse range of exciting projects and opportunities.
Visitors will have the opportunity to see Susi’s work in person at Suffolk in the City, part of London Craft Week, hosted by Society Patron Trevor Pickett. This exciting showcase brings together a selection of outstanding makers and offers a wonderful chance to experience the breadth and quality of contemporary craft represented by the Society.
