Some of our members are taking part in this year’s Suffolk Open Studios and we’re excited to highlight the work of our talented participating artists:

This June artisan glass maker, Clare Gaylard will be opening her studio and warmly welcoming visitors.

Clare works with rods of Murano glass, sculpting them in the flame to create intricate sculptures, vessels, and wearable art. Each piece is entirely flame-formed, with bespoke detailing and inclusions made by hand.

“I am inspired by people, places, objects, artefacts, and stories,” Clare says. “My glass tells stories—celebrating colour, pattern, light, and the beauty of the small.”

A graduate of Loughborough College of Art and Design with a BA (Hons) in Silversmithing & Jewellery, Clare brings a deep understanding of form, craftsmanship, and narrative to her glasswork.

Suffolk Open Studios runs throughout June and is a wonderful opportunity to meet artists, explore their studios, and experience the vibrant creative community across the region.
