As our exhibition at Snape Maltings continues, we are already looking ahead with excitement to our next show as part of London Craft Week. Once again generously hosted by our Patron, Trevor Pickett, this exhibition brings a carefully selected group of Suffolk makers to a London audience, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and distinctive creative voices.
The printmakers joining us in London this year are:
Terry Bryan is a printmaker and graphic artist. His work combines photographic imagery with techniques such as solarplate etching, monotype and collagraph, often reflecting landscapes, architecture and a longstanding interest in military history. His evolving series The Warrior Class through the ages exemplifies this ongoing exploration.
Helen Maxfield produces limited edition linocuts from her studio near Needham Market. Inspired by the Suffolk countryside and coastline, her work begins with observational sketches made on location. Back in the studio, these studies develop into prints that celebrate both the character of the landscape and the expressive qualities of the linocut process.
Jane Hunter discovered printmaking after moving from London to Mersea Island, where the surrounding landscape continues to inspire her work. Drawing, photography and close observation form the starting point for each piece, which then evolves through the printmaking process. Her practice is driven by curiosity and experimentation, with each print offering new possibilities and discoveries.
London Craft Week celebrates outstanding British and international craftsmanship, bringing together over 1,000 makers, designers, brands and galleries from around the world. Within this context, Suffolk in the City highlights the richness and diversity of creative practice across the region, where traditional skills meet contemporary expression.
The exhibition will take place at Pickett London in Mayfair, from 11–17 May. More information is available here >>
