New Member Marta Dyer Smith

The Suffolk Craft Society welcomes new member Marta Dyer Smith. 

 

Marta is a mixed media artist based in Suffolk, where she creates most of her printmaking work and films content for her YouTube channel. While she embraces a variety of techniques, her primary focus is intaglio printing, often blending collagraphy with monoprint and relief printmaking to achieve rich, layered textures. 

 

For Marta, framing is an integral part of the creative process, and she crafts her own frames to complement each piece. Her work is deeply inspired by the landscape, and she can often be found sketching outdoors in all weather conditions. However, her artistic vision is also shaped by her diverse background—having lived in Portugal, Poland, and Suffolk, and originally trained in molecular biology and IT, she brings a unique perspective to her practice.
