Maker of the Week - Kate Reynolds

Our SCS Maker of the Week is Kate Reynolds, who makes sculptural ceramics on the theme of the human head and figure, using the profile and outline to create her forms, which are simple and direct. The poured crackle white and turquoise glazes, and blackening smoke of the Raku firing, add to the design, often creating a surprising finish. Kate also makes press moulded platters and tiles which she decorates with slips and oxides.
