As Suffolk in the City comes to a close following another inspiring week as part of London Craft Week, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to our Patron, Trevor Pickett, for once again hosting and supporting this special exhibition at Pickett London.
Set within the distinctive surroundings of Pickett London in Mayfair, the exhibition has provided an opportunity to showcase the exceptional creativity, craftsmanship and individuality of Suffolk Craft Society makers to new audiences in the capital. Bringing contemporary craft from Suffolk into the heart of London, Suffolk in the City has celebrated a rich diversity of disciplines while highlighting the enduring value of skilled making.
Trevor Pickett’s longstanding commitment to craftsmanship makes Pickett London a particularly fitting home for the exhibition. His appreciation for making began early, growing up among generations of bespoke bicycle makers where quality, skill and careful attention to detail were part of everyday life. Those principles continued to shape his journey into fine leather goods and luxury retail and remain central to the ethos of Pickett London today, where authenticity, craftsmanship and products made to last continue to be championed.
That shared belief in the importance of contemporary craft and traditional skills has helped foster a valued partnership between Trevor and Suffolk Craft Society. His continued generosity in opening the doors of Pickett London to Society makers creates an important platform to celebrate and support contemporary craftsmanship in all its forms.
We are enormously grateful for Trevor’s ongoing encouragement, enthusiasm and advocacy for makers, and for helping make this year’s exhibition another success. We would also like to thank everyone who visited, supported the exhibition and engaged with the work on display during London Craft Week.
