Applications for SCS Membership, open 1st January 2026

Founded in 1970, the Suffolk Craft Society supports and promotes excellence in contemporary craft, championing skilled makers and high-quality workmanship across a wide range of disciplines. Today, the Society brings together around 90 professional makers working in diverse materials and practices.

We welcome applications from professional makers based in Suffolk and the surrounding counties whose work demonstrates strong design, technical skill, originality, and a commitment to developing their craft. We are particularly keen to hear from makers with a sustainability focus and from those who are enthusiastic about contributing to the Society and its activities.

Applications for membership open on 1 January and close on 31 January.

Applicants are asked to submit an application form, up to eight images of their work, and a £15 administration fee. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an online interview with members of the SCS committee. If you are an established maker working in any craft discipline and would like to become part of a supportive, respected craft network, we would be delighted to hear from you >>
