Amidst the preparation for this summers exhibition at Ickworth House we'd like to remind you about The Friends of the Suffolk Craft Society Annual Raffle. The prizes are always a true celebration of craftsmanship and this year is no exception. With three stunning handmade pieces it’s the perfect opportunity to support the Society and be in with a chance of winning something truly special.

A leather-bound journal by Paul Garcia
A beautifully crafted plain-page hardback book John Purcell Five Seasons recycled paper with marbled edges, hand-sewn silk end bands, aerolinen hinges, handmade paper doublures, and a Macclesfield silk ribbon.
The cover is split Gemini millboard covered in leather.

A turned wooden bowl with hand-crafted fruit by Dennis Hale
A delicate and colourful arrangement made from sycamore, dyed with water-soluble pigments. The fruit stems are shaped from holly, and the accompanying plate is equally exquisite.

A black leather tote bag by Raeleen Gladwell
Made from luxurious vegetable-tanned English leather, this timeless tote is both practical and stylish.

The Friends of the Suffolk Craft Society have been running an annual raffle for many years. In its early days, Makers generously donated their work, but more recently the Friends purchase pieces from Makers at discounted prices. We aim to feature a rotating selection of disciplines, choosing items that display well together at our exhibitions and can easily be posted should winners live outside Suffolk. For security reasons, we do not include jewellery in the raffle.

All Friends receive details of the current raffle by post, along with two books of tickets (£1 each, £5 per book). Tickets are also available to purchase at all society exhibitions. The draw takes place on the final day of the Society’s last exhibition of the year—this year at Bury St Edmunds Guildhall on Sunday 23rd November.

Funds raised from the raffle support new Society initiatives. In 2024, the Friends have contributed towards the costs associated with exhibiting at the Made London show.

Good luck — and thank you for your continued support!
