Gwyneth RIchings, our current Honorary Treasurer is also stepping down after many years of service, she has kindly agreed to carry on until the AGM in the autumn but a replacement is needed as soon as possible in order to facilitate the handover for this vital role. 

 

It is important Gwyneth's replacement has knowledge of financial management as it involves, in summary, dealing with a small payroll and HMRC, paying makers for sales and expenses, collecting and recording membership subscriptions, paying invoices, preparing accounts for the SCS and the Friends and contributing to the financial planning and management of the SCS as a committee member. 

 

The amount of time needed varies over the year depending on month and the number of shows, but averages around 6 hours per month. The role comes with an Honorarium of £750 a year.

A volunteer is needed to assist with publicity for the Suffolk Craft Society. The purpose is to work alongside our social media content people and webmaster with your focus on generating publicity via the printed medium. Ideally you can also edit and produce an e-newsletter for our large public email list. Many local magazines and newspapers welcome information about the Craft Society and our skilled crafts people so your role will be to facilitate this and via free listings and with leaflets and posters at local tourist hot spots. 

 

The work load is spread across the year with most needed on the build up to exhibitions and events. Much of the work can be done from home and meetings, when appropriate, attended via Zoom.
