Our Exhibitions - Creativity in iconic surroundings
Our exhibitions celebrate the extraordinary craftsmanship of Suffolk Craft Society makers, highlighting intricate detail, traditional techniques, and innovative design. With dynamic, ever-evolving displays set in iconic venues across the Region and in the Capital, each showcase offers a fresh, inspiring, and immersive experience for all who attend.
We are excited to announce Crossing Crafts, a new collaboration between the Society of Designer Craftsmen and the Suffolk Craft Society.
Inspired by the Pairings projects led by Alice Kettle, this initiative brings makers together across different disciplines to share skills, spark ideas, and explore new approaches to their work.
The resulting work and experiences will be showcased at the Suffolk Craft Society Summer Exhibition at Ickworth and the Society of Designer Craftsmen Annual Showcase in 2026, we look forward to sharing the results of these creative conversations.
We are pleased to announce our return to the beautiful Ickworth Estate hosted by the National Trust, from 28th August – 20th September 2026.
The Summer exhibition will showcase an inspiring collection of contemporary craft and modern heirlooms created by our talented makers across a range of disciplines.
We’ll be sharing updates on participating makers and previews of work in the coming weeks and look forward to welcoming you to another celebration of exceptional craftsmanship in this remarkable setting.
We are delighted to be returning to the historic Guildhall in Bury St Edmunds for our final exhibition of the year. Set within one of the town’s most remarkable landmarks, this much-anticipated event will showcase an inspiring collection of handmade contemporary crafts created by members of the Society, offering visitors the opportunity to discover exceptional work across a wide range of disciplines.
The exhibition provides a chance not only to enjoy outstanding craftsmanship, but also to experience the extraordinary setting of the Guildhall itself, believed to be the oldest continuously used civic building in the country. At the heart of Bury St Edmunds since the 1220s, the Guildhall has witnessed centuries of history, from shaping local governance and championing the rights of ordinary people to playing a role in events that influenced the course of British history.
