Commissioning

What is the appeal of commissioning hand made craftwork?

The answer is, you have a unique piece that distinctly reflects your wishes for the commission. If you have been frustrated with the range of mass produced artefacts on the High Street and want a piece to show your individual character, or are an architect needing a focal point for a company’s entrance, then the Suffolk Craft Society has many members who can make those ideas come true. See guide on How to Commission

Offering the skills of over 140 members categorised into thirteen craft disciplines, the Suffolk Craft Society is sure to be able to make whatever you want. No job too big or small, from bespoke furniture, to a special gift in jewellery, textiles or ceramics, from a beautiful calligraphic document to a carved bench or remembrance panel, all is possible. The Case Studies page offers some idea of the scope and range of commissions undertaken by society members.
